I am Xuan Lu, a second-year Ph.D. student at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the EIT NLP Group at the Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo, supervised by Prof. Xiaoyu Shen. Previously, I received both my B.S. and M.S. degrees from Shenzhen University. I also collaborate closely with Dr. Rui Meng at Google AI Research.
Research
My research focuses on Information Retrieval and Large Language Models. My recent works explore:
- Fine-grained Retrieval: Studying retrieval under multiple, fine-grained constraints, including multi-condition retrieval [EMNLP'25], tool retrieval [ICLR'26], and multimodal retrieval [CVPR'26].
- Efficient Ranking: Focusing on reducing inference cost in ranking and retrieval systems, including efficient reranking [ICLR'26], RAG, and in-context retrieval.
- Omni-modality Embeddings: Developing unified embedding models that support text, vision, audio, and structured documents.
📧 I am open to collaborations and discussions. Please feel free to reach out to me if you are interested in my research or any relevant topics.
